Wednesday at Gen. Tommy Franks' iDebate Developing Leaders Camp

The participants in General Tommy Franks' iDebate Developing Leaders Camp had a chance to take a little time off yesterday afternoon at General Franks' ranch, but most of the week, the students have been working hard to learn the facts and hone their arguments on the selected debate issues, which have included federal taxation policy, health care reform, and privatization of social security. The iDebate website describes the program as follows:

Developing Leaders with General Tommy Franks is a 5 day leadership development camp for 48 of the finest high school students from across the nation. This summer, these students will gather to voice their views, positions and concerns about some of the most important public policy issues of our day.

Hosted by the General Tommy Franks Leadership Institute, the National Center for Policy Analysis, and the Academy of Leadership & Liberty at the Oklahoma Christian University, these students will be immersed in the issues permeating this year's presidential debates. Presenting their ideas in a televised, free-style debate, and moderated by a nationally known debate moderator, students will have a chance to share their vision for the future with their peers and the American public.

Yesterday, the focus was on national health care policy, and the teams worked in breakout sessions.
