Which Comes First...the Chicken or the Human?
It didn't take PETA long to find a connection between the gruesome beheading of 22-year-old Tim McLean on a Canadian Greyhound bus and the terrible pain we humans inflict on our protein sustenance:
This tragic incident will certainly leave scars on the minds of the other passengers and the victim's family and friends. While it isn't every day that a human is violently attacked and eaten by another human, it's worth noting that it is the norm for many people not to give any thought to the fact that restaurants are serving flesh that comes from innocents who were minding their own business before someone came after them with a knife. How amazingly and conveniently compartmentalized the human mind is…
Luckily, we who eat the "innocents" will be enlightened via an ad that PETA will be running in the Portage Daily Graphic. You can find the ad (and all of the other PETA propaganda) here. An excerpt from their ad as they compare the murder of McLean to the slaughter of animals for human consumption:
Right now, this exact scenario is reality for many. They are sensitive, they value their lives, they see what is happening, they cannot run away, and they often suffer greatly yet are being killed for nothing more than a fleeting taste of their flesh.
I'm not surprised that a group like PETA would take every advantage of a tragedy such as this brutal murder to push their agenda. I do find it extremely insensitive to the victim's family. When comparing the value of human life and animal life I will pick human life every time. To imply that the death of a chicken raised to feed humans is on an equal par with the vicious murder of this young man is thoughtless and atrocious at best. It does, however, demonstrate the extremist thinking of the wackos over at PETA.
