Report: German Hostage Killed in Afghanistan
Reports that a German aid worker who converter to Islam, changed his name from Harald Kleber to Abdul Rahman, and married an Afghan woman only to be kidnapped and held for ransom has been killed. AFP:
Based on some information we have received from intelligence sources, the German national has been killed because the ransom they demanded was not paid," said the police commander for western Afghanistan, Akramudin Yawar.Most kidnappings of Westerneres in Afghanistan can be traced to the Taliban. It's not clear whether Kleber was being held by Taliban sympathizers or petty criminals. Either way, those responsible are bloody animals."Police are investigating to find his body and see if this is true."
