An Islamophobic da Vinci Code

The American Muslim reviews The Last Patriot and compares it to The Satanic Versus and The da Vinci Code. We also get a link in there. Of course, the title of the book review pretty much says it all: The Last Patriot: Islamophobia Triumphant in an Islamic da Vinci Code :

A best-selling new book, The Last Patriot, by Brad Thor, perfects a sophisticated art form surpassing Robert Spencer’s books in the emotional demonization of Islam and Muslims. It cites Spencer but goes beyond his accomplishments to the next level by launching a subliminal mimetic crusade to demonize the true scholars of Islam as dangerous “apologist enablers” of terrorism because they insist that traditionalist Islam is not inherently terroristic.
See how that works? The book doesn't attack Islam directly, instead there is a subliminal mimetic crusade to demonize the true scholars of Islam.

The Last Patriot is the Abbey Road for the new millenium. If you read the book backwards you can just barely make out "the true scholars of Islam are inherently terroristic" and "Paul is dead".

But here is a hopeful prophecy in the review:

This book might even rival in popularity its progenitors, namely, Dan Brown’s publication in 2003, The Da Vinci Code, and Salman Rushdie’s The Satanic Verses...

This could become a blockbuster movie.

That last part, of course, is way off. When was the last time any blockbuster movie criticized Islam, subliminally or otherwise? No, no one in Hollywood has the balls to do it. Either they're too PC to state the obvious, or too afraid of the consequences of portraying Islam as anything other than the Quakerism of the Middle East.

It goes on to explain the book based on a psychological profile of Islamophobia. When those who claim the real problem is Islamophobia and not Islamic terrorism warn about the evils of a book, it's time to go buy it.
