Kos Kidz Unimpressed By McCain's Military Service
As many differences of opinion as I have with John McCain on questions of policy, you will never hear or read anything from me but the utmost admiration and respect for John McCain's service to our country in Vietnam and the sacrifices he made there. It is, in fact, almost difficult for me to fathom how someone could bring themselves to write something so magnificently stupid and ungrateful as this Kossack diary.
And lest you think that this is just one lone voice, be sure to check out the comments at the bottom. While a few of the commenters (thankfully) take on the diarist, there plenty willing to pile on. A few choice examples:
"...you hear again and again that McCain is a "hero", but nobody ever says why he should be considered a hero. Except McCain, of course: he's a legend in his own mind."I realize a whole lot of the Kossacks are nuts, but wow..."Kudos to [McCain] for following orders like millions of other soldiers, sailors and airmen. Have we got to the point that doing that is laudable...Obama had a choice- make millions or work to help people make their lives better. He chose to work as a community organizer. How many of us given that choice would make the one that he did. Therefore I think it is laudable."
"He's a creep, whose sole positive act is he was an average POW. Big Whoop."
"Thank you...I'm sick the automatic "we gotta respect him" crapola."
"Why is it ok for the GOP to trash Kerry's war record with total lies but we are expected to leave McCain alone because he was a war prisoner? "
