Video: Jeremiah Wright in Detroit on America's Double Standard

The first rule when discovering you've dug yourself into a hole: stop digging.

My fella Americans, I'm isking you to watch this video of Jeremiah Wright's speech in Detroit last night. Below is the entire speech. All of it.

After watching the whole thing is Wright's position that the widely circulated clips shown of him accusing America of being evil & racist are out of context, tenable? Sure the clips we've all seen of Wright speaking of the US of KKK, G*d damn America, and speaking of 9/11 as cosmic justice are probably the most inflamatory things he said, but they seem perfectly in context.

How does any one buy the argue that America is evil and racist for believing Jeremiah Wright believes America is evil and racist?

You'd think Wright was dumb, but he's not. His basic theory comes from highly reputable academic sources. Which says something not only about Jeremiah Wright, but about the academy and academics.

It also says something about Barack Obama. That he would attend Wright's sermons for 20 years and see nothing wrong with his vision of an evil and racist America is no big deal. Lots of people hold that position. What is a big deal is that he's running for President of the very country his pastor condemns as evil and racist.

Last: Irony? "They speak good English"

Can someone please explain to Wright and the ebonics crowd that accents and pronunciation are not the same as grammar.

Entire speech below. But first, here are a few of the oddest clips of Wright as seen on MSNBC this morning.
