CBS Journalist Rescued in Basra (Updated with Video!)
Good news out of Basra: Photojournalist Richard Butler, who was kidnapped from his hotel February 11, and was feared to have been taken into Iran by his captors, has been rescued in a military raid by Iraqi forces. Via Times Online:
Iraqi forces have freed a British journalist kidnapped in the southern city of Basra in February.Major-General Mohammed al-Askary told Reuters news agency that Richard Butler, a photographer for the US network CBS, was well.
“He is in good health. He is fine. He’s here with me,” General Askary said from Basra.
Thank God for this answer to prayers. Please continue to pray for Jonathon Cote who is still missing in Basra, and for the other hostages in Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsewhere.
