U.S. Muslim on Great Islamic Example: Abu Musab al-Zarqawi [UPDATED: and al-Libi .... hell, all of al Qaeda!]

new_header_small.jpg

Who does Samir Khan, the Charlotte Muslim who once went by the name "inshallahshaheed" [trans: "a martyr, God willing"], think is worthy of emulation? Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the dead leader of al Qaeda in Iraq who became an icon among young jihadis for distributing videos of himself beheading civilian hostages.

nick-berg_zarqawi.jpgKhan notes in a post about why Muslim comedians need to stop making jokes and start killing infidels:

That’s why the Mujaahideen today are excellent examples for us to follow since they show us the way of the Sahaabah [ed note: = Muhammad's companions]. A Mujaahid described the face of Shaykh Abu Mus’ab Al-Zarqawi (rahimahullah)[ed note: = an utterance of blessing] as if you were looking directly at a Sahaabi; he never laughed exceedingly, he was always seen in a state of humbleness around others, and was in a constant state of sorrow for his Ummah and Akhirah, and when he smiled, the strangers around him wanted to know who he was. Here you have a man [ed note: ie, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi] that took the Prophet (sallallahu ‘alayhi wassallam) and the Sahaabah as his role models; so chose between the one who appears as a donkey in public and the one who appears as a honorable slave of Allah, Ta’aala.
Yup, that's some role model worthy of emulation.

And just in case all of the Arabic and Islamic jargon in the above post was just too difficult to figure out, Samir puts it in much simpler terms in this one:

As long as the Muslims take the Mujaahideen of Afghanistan as their role models (as well as the Islamic State of ‘Iraaq), then this is a step forward in the right direction:
Something about giving aid and comfort to the enemy during an actual shooting war comes to mind.

And yes, this guy actually lives in his parent's basement in a middle class Charlotte neighborhood.

UPDATE: I switched the Zarqawi image since some of you may not know just how bad this guy is. The guy in the middle holding the knife to Nicholas Berg's neck? Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.

UPDATE II: I can't believe I forgot about this from Samir's "about us" page. Scroll down to very end and you'll notice this statement: "Some of the Scholars of Islām in this age whom we follow and support are as follows".

You'll notice one thing in common: all of them are former, present, or dead members of al Qaeda, the Taliban, or otherwise hostile to the US.

And yes, I made backup of all of this just in case Samir later denies that he supports al Qaeda.
