Mahdi Army to be Disbanded?
Notice the caveat: if the highest Shi’ite religious authority demand it.
All eyes on Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, who's main source of money is the religious establishment of Qom, Iran. Since Iran's main trump card in Iraq is the Mahdi Army, don't count on pressure from the mad Mullahs on al-Sistani to call off Muqtada al-Sadr.
