Who Is Barack Obama?

In the wake of September 11, 2001, Barack Hussein Obama stopped wearing an Amercan flag pin on his lapel. Explaining his decision, Obama had the following to say:

I'm less concerned with what you're wearing on your lapel than what's in your heart.
obama che.jpgFair enough. The problem with that idea is, of course, that the American people have no direct way of knowing what's in your heart. We can only infer, based on your outward actions, what might be in your heart.

Although you can't pick your family, some of us find it difficult to ignore the fact that your mother, Stanley, was a Marxist atheist. This wasn't just your birth mother; this was the woman who raised the young Barack and taught him what to think about the world. What, after all, does an embittered communist mother teach her young son about America? Along the same lines, we're also just a little disturbed by a campaign office sporting Che Guevara flags. Do your campaign people know what's in your heart?

obamasalute.jpgThen again, your communist mother and the refusal to wear a flag issue may have come and gone if not for your later refusal to SALUTE the flag.

In a time when many of us are no longer quite sure which of our leaders really have this nation's best interests at heart, these situations cause Americans to question what is in your heart.

Then, we learned that your own wife only recently decided that she lives in a nation that she has any reason to be particularly proud of.

That tells me something about your wife. It tells us she fails to appreciate the greatness of America. This is the woman you picked to be your life partner and decided to send out on the campaign trail on your behalf. I could be wrong, but I strongly suspect your wife's sentiments tell us something about what's in your own heart.

And now, we learn of your 20-year association with Jeremiah Wright, an America-hating bombthrower that you yourself chose to bring into the closest inner sanctum of your life, a man you consult for all your major life decisions. As with the issues above, I suspect that your close relationship with Jeremiah Wright tells us something pretty important about what's in your heart. Given the disconnect between your rhetoric and your actions, I hope you'll forgive the rest of us if we fail to take you at your word.

UPDATE : Open support from the New Black Panther Party on your website probably isn't going to help things.
