Dallas Imam Speaks Out on Death of Sarah and Amina Said

rip.jpgGiven the serious issues raised by the honor killing of Sarah and Amina Said by their Muslim father, this would seem to be a golden opportunity for an Islamic leader to make a bold statement. Dallas Imam Yusuf Kavacki's message? "Hey, everyone dies.":

Dr. Yusuf Kavacki, head of the Richardson mosque, alternating between English and Arabic, told mourners that all living things are destined to die. Another imam talked about families being the most important thing in Islam and the need for parents to work to keep their families strong.
Nothing like an unambiguous statement, eh? If you asked the fundamentalist idiot who killed these two sweet young girls, I imagine he'd tell you he was just trying to "keep his family strong."

Amina's MySpace profile is still up.

Rest in peace, ladies. You didn't deserve this--and the monster who killed you doesn't deserve to live.
