Friday Night Rachmaninoff: Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, Variation XVIII
You never heard a beat up old piano sound this beautiful. This random kid plays a gooey, note-perfect adaption of Rachmaninoff's masterpiece, Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, Variation 18 (the piece's emotional climax and most popular segment).
This is usually played a little more up-tempo, but I personally like how the slowed down deliberateness of the playing makes it easier to hear the rich harmonies and counterpoint flowing seamlessly under the soaring melody. Nicely done, random kid.
DateUp by Vinnie This is getting to be a habit, but I simply must interject with some Amadeus. Not that the Rachmaninoff wasn't great, but truly Mozart was the master. At any rate both pieces are simply beautiful music.
