Yeah, but why are you "personally against abortion"?
Okay, so you're pro-choice but "personally against abortion" like Bill Clinton claimed he was over the weekend.
Why are you "personally against abortion"? I mean, what exactly is wrong with it?
Is there some middle-ground I'm not seeing between "it's taking human life" and "it's not human life therefore it's like any other minor surgery"? Because if you believe that abortion is taking human life, aren't you under an ethical obligation to oppose it more than "personally" but to criminalize it?
It would be like saying, "I oppose murder, but it's a personal choice and therefore it should not be outlawed."
And if the latter, that abortion is not some form of homicide, then why oppose it "personally"? What's the harm if it's no different then getting your tonsils removed or cosmetic surgery?
Anyway, Hawkins has a McCain pro-life video that's pretty good if you're into this particular debate.
UPDATE: Bryan chimes in:
Perhaps Bill also ought to tell the truth about why he vetoed the ban on partial birth abortion, twice, despite the fact it that it enjoyed majority support: Because his party depends on Planned Parenthood, NOW, NARAL et al for support, and if they oppose a policy, the Democrats as a party fall in line. Tell the truth, Bill, for the first time in your life.
