Moral relativism run amok. From a post titled One Man’s Patriot.... (is another man’s terrorist):

"Popa, why was John McCain in prison in Vietnam?" I told her that he had been shot down over Hanoi during a bombing sortie and he was held as a prisoner of war for a number of years. "Did he drop bombs on people to frighten and kill them?" She asked. I told her that I suspected that he did intend to frighten and kill them. This was followed by a long thoughtful pause which ended when she said, "I’ll bet those people in Hanoi thought he was a terrorist." She had a point, "I suspect they did, I suspect they did."
