Shenanigans: "Soldier" Confesses to Rape, Torture at Abu Ghraib

A video of a drunk veteran 'confessing' to his friends that he raped a young girl prisoner at Abu Ghraib and tortured other detainees is making the rounds at Islamist websites. Chickenhawk Express found the video at an Islamis website, and wants to know who it is making the allegations on the video.

Warning: Video contains foul and racist language.

Of course, the video is being hosted on YouTube by a Muslim who is pimping the video as U.S.A soldier tells how he Raped A muslim girl in Abu Ghraib.

The video is actually over a year old, as evidenced by this Infowars article dating from January 2007. I'm surprised I hadn't seen it before.

But since the article claims that the military was looking in to the allegations made on the video, I'm guessing the military also called shenanigans on it since I haven't heard of any charges against this guy. If any one knows what happened with the investigations, let me know.

The guy on this video needs to in f*cking jail, though. Even if he didn't actually rape or torture any one at Abu Ghraib.

I'm guessing he's a lying son-of-a-bitch and that this whole video is a set up by lefties. Don't think they'd do it? Then you've never seen this 'how to waterboard' video made by 'the military'.

The fact that the video seems to have been posted anonymously and the man 'confessing' to rape and torture is unidentifiable due to the shadowing is a dead giveaway that it's BS. It's not as polished as the waterboarding fake, but that's what makes it all the more believable. It actually looks like a bunch of drunk guys sitting around talking trash.

But it's too much. Like an Oliver Stone movie. Take all of the worst allegations about Abu Ghraib and then get one guy to confess to them all.

But the real giveaway that it's bogus? He claims that it was when the photos came out that the shit hit the fan and the new rule became 'no f*cking cameras'. Why is this a giveaway? Because contrary to popular belief, there was a criminal investigation into alleged abuses at Abu Ghraib before the pictures came out in the media.

Abu Ghraib prison was taken over by Geoffrey Miller who allegedly 'Gitmoized' it in September 2003. The famous photos of Pfc. Lynndie England were taken in October and November of 2003. Sanchez ordered an investigation into alleged prisoner abuse at Abu Ghraib on January 19th, 2004--barely three months after the 'dogpile' photos were taken.

But when did the photos emerge? April 28, 2004 a month after 6 Abu Ghraib guards had already been charged with prisoner abuse.

Which is the giveaway, because according to the popular leftist narrative of Abu Ghraib the military began investigating prisoner abuse after CBS and other news outlets reported it. In their minds the military was forced into investigating Abu Ghraib because of media reporting. The hero, the media; the villains, the military.

I know this because my students are stunned when I tell them that the Abu Ghraib photos were leaked after the military had already began to take action against those responsible.

That's the narrative, and the one which the video seems to echo.

But there's something else that is telling. There were allegations of sexual abuse at Abu Ghraib. Photos of male prisoners, in the prison because they were alleged rapists, being sexual abused.

Some of the Abu Ghraib photos even show two young women picked up for prostitution. One of the women even flashes her breasts in Girls Gone Wild fashion. But a female guard is in the room, and poses with her.

No allegations of rape. Not in the Taguba Report. Not anywhere. Except in insurgent propaganda. Echoed in the Arab press. And then echoed again in the far-left wing European and U.S. 'indie' press.

So, the news of rape in Abu Ghraib has penetrated lefty publications and is now part of the accepted narrative of the Left. And this video is just the apex of that narrative.

It's my estimation that the whole video is a set up. The producers need to be rounded up, tried for sedition, and then introduced to a cell mate.

There is a reason that the jihadis fight us, and that is because they believe this kind of shit! They actually believe that American soldiers routinely rape and murder young girls in Iraq. That we are the bad guys hurting civilians and that they are the good guys fighting to protect the chastity of Sunni women. I don't know how many times I've seen the same narrative at jihadi forums. This kind of childish propaganda gets people killed.

On the tiny chance that he's telling the truth? He's a rapist and needs to be sent to federal pound-me-in-the-ass prison where he'll find out just what it's like to be rape. But there was an investigation, and I haven't heard anything about its results. You think Keith Olbermann wouldn't lead with this story for a month had it turned out to be true?

I'll admit it, I'm biased. I actually believe that our soldiers are decent men and women. So my initial reaction to these kind of allegations are to defend our soldiers, airmen, sailors, and Marines. I just won't believe it until I have real evidence.

Hat tip Snooper, who also calls shenanigans.

Cao thinks this guy is the next Jesse MacBeth. (Note to Cao: The IraqSlogger link is old, from last year too)

Stix also thinks:

It looks to me to be a fake soldier who is a racist bigot and should be shunned and arrested for making propaganda for our enemies..
Indeed.

UPDATE 1/28/2008: Read Moriarti the Kaffir's review about a book which related similar charges. Moriarti was at Abu Ghraib investigating allegations of abuse, none of which included rape.
