Jihadis Use Web to Plan Attacks Against Paris
The al Ekhlas forum is a lot like Mos Eisley Spaceport: You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. MEMRI:
This data, which I got from the website Wikipedia... enables the mujahideen to choose the targets [for attack]... and to rank them according to their importance. [This list reveals] that Paris is an important capital, [both] in terms of its symbolic [significance]... and in terms of the density of air traffic... Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris is ranked... as the fifth most important airport [in the world]. This shows that Paris is not just a symbolic capital, but is a major European trade [hub]. My mujahid brother, one disaster in Paris, and you will see how many economic enterprises crash, and how many businesses collapse...There's more at MEMRI."As for [targeting] individuals, the mayor of Paris would be a legitimate [candidate for assassination] for media purposes. If we manage to eliminate him, it would break Sarkozy's power."
"[Possible] operations [in Paris] therefore fall into two categories: ...those targeting the most popular and the most economically significant [sites]... and those targeting important Parisian figures – first and foremost the Mayor.
Remember, the same forum announced the formation of al Qaeda in Britain two weeks ago. My guess is that both the al Qaeda in Britain and the operational planning against Paris are a bunch of kids. But even so, a few nutty kids inspired by jihad and egged on by forum members can do more than a little harm.
