Londinistan: Man Admits Training Terrorists on British Soil
I used to play paintball when I was in high school with my friends. Oddly, none of us ever thought it was good training on how to kill the kufr.
Unlike the other five defendants in the case, Atilla Ahmet actually admits his part in inciting others to violent jihad. BBC:
Atilla Ahmet, of Lewisham, south east London, admitted three charges of encouraging others to commit murder.Just like the Boy Scouts of my youth. Only instead of secretly swapping pornos while the Scout leaders weren't looking, these guys are getting beheading snuff videos from them.The revelation came as five men with connections to Ahmet went on trial at Woolwich Crown Court for a number of terror offences, which all five deny.
Prosecutors told the court that one of them, Mohammed Hamid, organised camps attended by some 21 July plotters....
Alleged terrorist training took the form of camping trips and paintballing excursions around Britain, said David Farrell, prosecuting.
Mr Farrell added that the trips were intended to "foster within the participants that they were training for "Jihad" against the "Kuffir", or non-believers".
He said: "A number of young men who attended camps organised by Hamid were in fact involved in attempts to kill and seriously injure passengers on the London transport network on 21 July, 2005." ...
The court heard that some of those involved in the failed 21 July attacks also met at Mr Hamid's home...
Mr Farrell added that Hamid was arrested at a stall in London's Oxford Street in October 2004 alongside Muktar Said Ibrahim, the ringleader of the failed 21 July plot...
When the defendants were arrested, material including CDs and DVDs containing recordings of murders, beheadings and suicide bombings were seized from their homes, Mr Farrell said.
Hmmmm, paintballing jihadis. Where have I heard of that before?
UPDATE: Evan Kohlmann e-mailed reminding me that this is,
*the* Atilla Ahmet, i.e. Abu Hamza al-Masri's former right hand man (forgive the pun) at the Finsbury Park Mosque. As in the guy who led all the raucous demonstrations demanding that they free abu hamza. And the guy in the video of the brief "re-takeover" of the Finsbury Park mosque.And that would be the same Abu Hamza indicted in the US for aiding James Ujaama in his quest to set up a terror training camp in Bly, Washington. But in Bly they would have used real guns, not just paintball.
