Al Qaeda Beheads Four on Video
A few of us who monitor these things noticed that a prominent forum had released a video showing al Qaeda in Iraq murdering four people by beheading them with a knife earlier in the week. We've communicated back and forth over just how gruesome the video is.
It's bad. Very very bad. If not the worst beheading snuff video I've ever seen, right up at the top. Sickening. Disgusting. The words don't even come close to painting a true picture.
The video is actually old and the murders dates from November 2004 and early 2005, but it had never been released. Why would al Qaeda in Iraq release this video now nearly three years after the crime?
The video shows four hostages who al Qaeda claims are highway bandits confessing. Two are then murdered together and two more beheaded at different times.
The victims are: Othman Nasser Azawi, Ali Hassan Makhlaf, Joumouaa al Lwizi, & Abd Assatar al Sabaawi
They warn that this is the fate of criminals. It should be remembered that al Qaeda routinely gets "confessions" from hostages, even from those who's only "crime" was working for the democratically elected government in Iraq.
I've decided to go ahead and post a few frames of the video to serve as a reminder of what we're up against in Iraq. There is a reason the people of Anbar and Diyalah got fed up with al Qaeda and took up arms against them.
Contrary to popular belief among Salafi Muslims, some of who are celebrating the video on the forums, beheading is not a humane way to die. The victims clearly suffer severely and do not die instantly. At several points during the four murders the murderer has a hard time finishing the job as the knife will not cut all the way through.
Further, there is no real evidence that these men were criminals at all. Just "confessions" made under duress.
They were murdered, plain and simple.
There is no equivalence between al Qaeda murdering hostages in Iraq and a few American soldiers who have unlawfully killed civilians there either. In America we decry this sort of behavior and treat them like the criminals they are. Our murderers are criminals.
But the Salaafist jihadis celebrate these types of murders. Abu Musab al Zarqawi, who was head of al Qaeda at the time, is celebrated as a cult hero. The video suggests that the men murdering hostages are figures worthy of emulation.
In fact, what really prompted me to post this was that so many on the Islamist forums seem to be celebrating the return of the beheading video to the internet. Others justify beheading as humane, necessary, or an integral part of Sharia law.
There is no justification for such sick barbarism, and those who take some sort of perverse pleasure in watching these videos are beyond the pale. They are not human, they are subhuman. They are scum.
Proceed at your own risk. The images below show the true face of or enemies in Iraq and the kind of system of justice they would inflict on any country they conquer. There can be no compromise or deals with the Salafist jihadis in Iraq.
They must be exterminated.
