Entire Global Military Spending Less Than U.S. Entitlements
The headline and story tries to convince the reader that the U.S. spends way too much on the military.
The United States spent $529 billion, slightly less than the entire GDP of the Netherlands, on military operations in 2006Perspective. For another perspective, Rob Port reminds us that if you were to combine all military spending from every country on the planet, it still would be less than what the U.S. spends on entitlements in a single year.
