Despite Public Opposition, Amnesty Bill Continues to Move Through the Senate
Via the NYT:
The Senate Democratic whip, Richard J. Durbin of Illinois, said: “This bill is drawing opposition from business, labor, Democrats, Republicans, theists and nontheists, American League and National League baseball fans. What I’m trying to say to you is there’s more opposition to this bill than support.”We can hope. But Mr. Durbin added, “The force behind this compromise is the understanding that if we fail, the process ends probably for the next two years.”
In other news, Minority Leader Boehner describes the bill as a "piece of shit."
h/t: Allah, who has a lot more to say.
