"They can have very simply conversations, like: 'Who am I? Where am I going?"'

- Liu Yang, a government official in charge of educating the Chinese public on proper usage of the English language, explaining that many Chinese are quite limited in their ability to speak and understand proper English.

Mr. Yang explained his corrective efforts as follows: "In the future when we set up new signs in public places in English, we hope all these standards will be followed to avoid more additional mistakes."
