Anonymous, Veiled Muslim Woman to Give 'Alternative Christmas' Message on British TV
Britain's Channel 4 has decided to go dhimmi, just like the Beebs, and will allow a "freelance lecturer in Islamic studies and the Koran" who goes by the name of one of Mohammed's wives and wears a full veil and gloves in public to counter the Queen's Christmas message this year:
A veiled Muslim woman will deliver this year's alternative Christmas speech on Channel 4, the broadcaster has said. Khadija, a Zimbabwean-born British citizen who has been wearing the full veil - or niqab - for 10 years, has been given the slot. What better way to promote peace on earth, good will toward men than to have Christmas mocked by someone firmly entrenched in the seventh century?
The message will reflect a year in which the wearing of religious clothing and symbols have "dominated the news agenda", said a Channel 4 spokesman.
It's become something of a tradition for British broadcasters to denigrate Christmas with a counterpoint to the Queen's speech:
Previous presenters have included Sharon Osbourne, Ali G, The Simpsons, the Rev Jesse Jackson and the late Quentin Crisp.UPDATE by Rusty: An earlier version of this post cited the BBC as airing the message. Ian brought it to our attention that it was the UK's privately owned Channel 4 that will run it. The post has been corrected.
