Why Do We Pamper These People?

Well, this is good news, in a way....

ATLANTA (Reuters) - A U.S. citizen has pleaded guilty in federal court to providing material support to the militant Palestinian group Hamas, the Justice Department said on Friday.

Mohamed Shorbagi, 42, who served as imam at a mosque in Rome, Georgia, was charged in August with providing material support to a foreign terrorist organization, a charge that carries a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison.

"Shorbagi provided the support through donations to the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development knowing that some or all of the money was in fact destined for Hamas," a Justice Department statement said.

Shorbagi also "hosted high-level Hamas officials" at the mosque, it said.

It's great he was caught. It's great he's been convicted.

But is sending someone like this to a regular prison the answer?

How about stripping him of his citizenship, and dropping him off in whatever 3rd world 7th century hellhole he crawled out of.

Either that, or how about a Muslim-only supermax prison in, say, the far reaches of Alaska. Send them somewhere where they can't recruit (think Hosay Padeeya) and they can't escape.

Of course, the optimal solution is the simplest. Charge, try, and convict for the actual crime, treason, and get a rope.
