Terrorists Threaten to Murder Turkish Hostage on Video
Update: Turkish hostage Yildram Tek murdered by Iraqi terrorists.
------------------------
In July a group calling itself the Lions of Justice (sometimes rendered Lions of Truth or Lions of Righteousness) Brigade kidnapped a Turkish man named Yeldram Tek. A video of Tek was released in late September in which the unknown group demanded that Turkey close down the company which Tek works for and which it claims has contracts with the Coalition in the South of Iraq.
Yesterday, the group released a new video making the same demands. This time the terrorists threatened to murder Yeldram Tek if the company was not closed. Tek, who is from Istanbul, was given 72 hours in the ultimatum.
The Jawa Report has obtained a copy of the video released on an Islamist bulletin board. Click the image to the right for larger view.
Tek is shown wearing an Orange jumpsuit, reminiscent of the clothes which hostages in Iraq are often forced to where as a visual linking to Abu Ghraib. He is strapped to a chair and a guard holds an AK-47 to his head as he pleads for his government to meet the demands for his life.
While the video is visually akin to the many Sunni Salafi hostage videos of the past, Tek is said to have worked in Samawa, which is a mainly Shia area. Are they Sunni or Shia? Another difference is the low quality of the tape--you can even see the battery level of the camcorder. In the past years these videos have become increasingly sophisticated and usually include a nasheed (or Islamic song), a branding stamp, and several edited portions.
More of Michael Moore's 'minutemen' at work in Iraq. We pray for his immediate and unconditional release.
