Wanted at Reuters: Ph.D. in Political Science, Photoshopping Skills a Plus
The Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at Oxford University is looking for help. According to an ad placed at the American Poliitical Science Association's website (password protected, but I'm a member) the Reuters Institute seeks a Ph.D. in political science and:
You will engage in research on aspects of the relationship between journalism on the one hand and politics and society on the other. The successful applicant may be expected to make a major contribution to an Institute project analysing and reporting on the state of the world's media via a comparative study of selected countries.I certainly hope Reuter's own media operations in the Middle East come under scrutiny. Be sure to include Lebanon and Gaza in those case studies.
Given the bias in academia, don't hold your breath for whatever report comes out of this.
No mention whether photoshopping skills are required, but I bet they couldn't hurt.
Hat tip to the esteemed political scientist, the world renown Professor Chaos, who apparently spends the majority of his day cruising the APSA website looking for a job at a university in a Red State. Hot coeds prefered. Where does Bethany go to school again?
PS--Professor Chaos says I should apply under my own name. Now that would be a hell of a coup!
