Screw Iran Part II

I blogged the discovery of this field here. Today news that one of the test wells is producing 6000 bpd. A very respectable yield indeed, in my area a few hundred is considered a good well.

Chron.com: WASHINGTON — A trio of oil companies led by Chevron Corp. has tapped a petroleum pool deep beneath the Gulf of Mexico that could boost the nation's reserves by more than 50 percent…

…A test well indicates it could be the biggest new domestic oil discovery since Alaska's Prudhoe Bay a generation ago…

…During the test, the Jack 2 well sustained a flow rate of more than 6,000 barrels of oil per day, but analysts and executives believe the payoff could be much larger than that…

Of course there were doubters. Like this Comment from our eternally pessimistic Hondo:
Mexico can't drill at that depth - its a different ballgame. Govt regulations prevent outside investment/assistance.
Screw you hippie! Now eat them thar words Mr. Hondo. 6000 bpd from one test well? Sure sounds like they were able to get at it to me.
