Tolerance in "Higher Education"

Cross-posted at the Mein BlogoVault.

Compare and contrast the following two stories about our learned, sophisticated institutions of "higher learning."

A 9-11 conspiracy monger at the University of Wisconsin has been permitted (with all of his physics, engineering and military training - not) to "teach" a course called "Islam: Religion and Culture," which makes 9-11 conspiracy theories a central pillar of the course. When asked why, the "teacher" replied that this was widely believed in the Muslim world.

It is also widely believed that killing Jews is a good thing in the Muslim world.

Compare that to this. A Christian group banned from Southern Illinois University Law School for requiring members to affirm a belief in Christ was only reinstated thanks to a court order.

Clear enough for you? Radical 9-11 conspiracies and Islamist apologetics? Perfectly fine. Believing in Jesus and having a group of fellow Christians who do the same at a University? Heretical behavior worthy of banishment.

No - this isn't a scientific study. The stories do, however, lend more antecdotal evidence to the notion that there has been an undeniable hard-leftist corruption of many of our Universities - to the point now that radical and dellusional conspiracies / Islamic studies have been given more credence than a student group of religious Christians who faced exile for their unwillingness to conform to some "academic" standard of "multicultural diversity."

Debbie Frisch would be proud. With such learned academics like Frisch and Ward Churchill "teaching" the nation's future, why worry?
