Remembering the 7/7 London Bombing
By the time I get this posted the one year anniversary of the London tube bombings will be fast approaching. In fact it's already 7/7 in London now as I'm typing. It was a normal Thursday morning I got up and checked the news and there were reports of some bombs or electrical problems in the London tube. I checked the blog and Mike Pechar had The Jawa Report on top of things. His post received a huge number of trackbacks. As the day wore on it became clear that London, like NYC and Madrid before, had become the victim of a serious attack by a terror cell loyal to al-Qaeda.
This was espcially tough to swallow here in America. To know that our mother country was under attack and suffering for standing with us in the War on Terror. I cannot help but feel a deep sense of gratitude. Though the birth of the United States caused great pains on both sides, we and the British are one. The bond between our peoples is unbreakable and enternal. One will always stand for the other. This event brought home with deadly gravity what it means to have a true ally. Stand together we shall and we shall never forget!
I've collected up a few links one here and more below the break. They are The Jawa Reports account of the hours and days following this cowardly attack. Special thanks to Mike Pechar, who's work on this event really stands out.
The events start here with Mike Pechars post breaking the news.

The Jawa Report Archive for the entire month of June 2005. It's an impressive record of the event.
