Helen Thomas Reveals Media Bias, Calls Hugh Hewitt Chickenhawk

Helen Thomas is the perfect Leftist journalist. She believes she has no bias, no agenda, no partisan attachment. She actually believes her perceptions of the world is unbiased--unmediated by personal feelings and beliefs. She sees the world as it really is. She is a member of the reality based community.

No, she is not bias. It's just that the rest of the world is suffering under false consciousness. And what could be Leftist about thinking that?

Hugh Hewitt (HH) interviews Helent Thomas (HT). Helen Thomas hangs up on Hewitt:

HH: But that's not what I'm...I'm asking if you like him?

HT: I don't think that has anything to do with it.

HH: But why not tell me if you don't?

HT: What does it matter?

HH: Well, it might affect your reporting.

HT: Why isn't...that...because that isn't the way reporters operate. We operate on the news and on the facts.

HH: And you have no bias?

HT: No.

HH: No anti-Bush bias at all?

HT: Look. I take everything that he does with a grain of salt, because I've already seen...I think he was wrong to take us into the war...

See how that works? It's not bias when you think Bush is part of an evil neo-con conspiracy. It's only bias when you think he isn't.

And check out this part:

HT: Who are you?

HH: I...

HT: Who am I talking to?

HH: Hugh Hewitt.

HT: Am I talking to a journalist?

HH: Yes. Yes, for a long time. I'm just curious about what's gone wrong...

HT: Tell me about your career. What have you really done?

HH: Well, it's not nearly as impressive as you.

HT: Where did...yes, it's...it's very important to me. Where did you work?

HH: PBS for ten years.

HH: Yes.

HT: Well, that's a good credential.

HH: There you have it. See? I'm...

HT: But then you decided to switch over?

HH: To switch over to what?

HT: God knows what you are.

Luke, switch over to the dark side! You do not understand the power of the dark side of the Force!

And more objective reality as it really is, because reporters have no bias:

HH: Why don't you like George Bush?

HT: I don't like people who want a war.

HH: And you just think he really just decided to go to war...and is Iraq better off today than it was four years ago?

HT: No. Watch...I want you to read...I want you to look at these pictures of these detainees and prisoners of war. And you will really be so disturbed. Why don't you...

HH: What did we do?

HT: Why don't you look at the pictures and call me back, okay?

What comes next is straight out of Kos. Seriously:
HT: Should they be the grateful dead? A hundred thousand dead? Wounded? Should all of the people we have killed, Americans, dead? Should they be happy? I mean, what are you talking about? Did you enlist?
Chickenhawk!! Hugh Hewitt you Chickenhawk!!

Read the rest. Hilarity sure to ensue!!
