The Army of Ansar al Sunna has released a video of what it claims to be an attack against a 'CIA' vehicle. The video may be downloaded here (see Mar 18). Images from the video are posted below. Images are not graphic.

Update: Evan Kohlmann has more. and it looks like Infovlad is finally going to a more blogger friendly format.

SITE offers this translation of the Ansar al-Sunna statement that accompanied the video:

URGENT: The Islamic Army of Iraq kills two CIA officers with video, March 17, 2005

In the name of God, the most gracious and merciful.

(Quranic verse)

Thanks to God of all peoples, the mighty and the best prayers and greetings to the profits of faith, his family and all his friends.

At 10:30, this morning of Safar 6, 1426, March 17, 2005, a brigade of the Army planted explosives on the free road's
intersection south of Bagdad in the district of al Yousefia, the explosives blew up a convoy of CIA American Officers, after
the Army got intelligence information that this convoy was to pass this way. The attack resulted in killing two American CIA Officers, Thanks to God.

God is great, glory to God.

What is glaringly missing from the video are any bodies. While there is blood in the car, it would seem that the 'CIA agents' escaped. Further, the only evidence to support al-Sunna's claim that the vehicle was operated by the 'CIA' is the fact that a pack of Marlboro's was in the car. Music CDs in the car appear to be of Arabic artists. An odd choice for a 'CIA agent' to listen to. There was, however, body armour left behind.

This would not be the first time the jihadis in Iraq claimed to kill a 'CIA agent'. As a matter of fact, the group likes to label any Iraqi working in any capacity (even truck drivers) for the Coalition or the Kurdish government a 'CIA agent'.
