Moonbats Speak Out at the Post that Generated 373 Comments (and climbing)

Who would have thought that a silly little post making fun of Duncan 'Atrios' Black would generate nearly 400 comments? The first 100 or so are almost exclusively from Eschaton readers and I've got to say something about them--it's not so much the vitriol or the threats of legal action against me that I mind, it's the smugness.

Big shout out and thank you to all the wingnuts (as we are apparently called by the moonbats, this means you wine-aholic and other minions) who rushed to the comments section to defend my honor. For your courage, each of you will receeve 72 virgins!

Jeff Goldstein, though, gets the pick of the virgins litter for rushing into the comments section early on and pointing out the hypocrisy of the whole thing. He was completely right when he said to me in an e-mail:

Atrios doesn't have "readers" so much as he does run a clubhouse for lefty cranks who fancy themselves intellectual attack dogs.
Don't believe Jeff? Just read the comments in this post. Since I know my readers, unlike Eschaton's, have jobs and therefore can't spend all day lurking on my blog, I've reposted some of the highlights of the moonbattery. I honestly haven't read them all. Feel free to pick out any choice nuggets and post them again here.

You don't get it, do you? Even if Atrios WERE gay, his politics don't depend on gay-bashing. I don't recall his proposing an AMENDMENT to the CONSTITUTION, for chrissakes...to "strengthen traditional marriage" [geez, why don't they outlaw divorce if they're so concerned?]

You just can't see the hypocrisy of preaching "traditional family values" and being a hooker?

Outting a guy isn't gay bashing, I'm sure.
---------------------------
You little piggies are squirming. Your boy sucked cock and fucked people in the ass for money. Take it like a man.

The tolerance is so impressive.
----------------------------------
Why are Republicans all hypocrits. If Clinton had allowed a male prostitute into the press corps, they would have gone crazy. But somehow they feel that if Bush does it, well then, heck, it's all right by them.

(And by the way, the issue isn't that Gannon/Guckert is gay. No one except the Repugs cares about that. It's that he's an active protistute which, you might remember, is illegal.)

Two words: Barney Frank
-------------------------------
The problem with Atrios is he is not a Rove sucking neo-con troll!!

Touche!
------------------------------
If giving White House press credentials to a fake reporter with a fake name who was planted in order to lob softballs at Scott McClellan isn't a big deal, tell us why it's not.

Then tell us how important the 4th Estate is to a functioning democracy.

CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN....
-----------------------------
Grow up. Jeezus. No one "outed" Gannon/Guckert.

Right.....
-----------------------------
Now, lil' Scottie McClellan and Ken Mehlman are probably gay. But, if that's revealed as true, they will have been outed: why? Because they don't have a public life where, say, they engage in homosexual sex for money.

Hell, who even knows if Gannon/Guckert's gay. We know he engages in gay sex for money, but, news flash, a lot of the lesbian sex you people see in porn? Many of those women are not actually lesbians! Gee whillikers! Really? This guy owes $20,000 in back taxes: maybe he decided to take his 8" woody and try to make a little cash, regardless of his sexuality.

But, as other people have pointed out, the point is that the WH, whose background checks are probably the most thorough in the country, certainly knew this hooker was a hooker.

Ladies and gentleman, I think we hava a winner!!
---------------------------
It's not about Guckert (that's his real name - start using it and stop with the denial already) being gay.

It's about the White House rewarding a gay prostitute with access for being a Republican shill, all while the same White House is attacking homosexuality.

It's really a simple concept. In fact, when you phrase it the way you all did a few years ago, it becomes even simpler:

It's not about the sex, it's about the lying.

Ouch, you got us on that one!! Cause, you know, Gannon-Guckert is such a top White House official and all. Er, I mean, he's such an important media powerhouse....
---------------------
Additionally there is the whole Plame/CIA memo thing that no one seems to be willing to explain.

What about the Mossad?? Never forget the Mossad!!!!!
-------------------
Jeff Gannon outed? He publically advertised his prostitution price list, the size of his penis, pictures of himself peeing, as a gay hooker. He made all this widely available to the public via the web. "Outed by liberal blogs" -- is this the best you can come up with?

The pure hubris of the right will be its demise.

Hubris. Right.
--------------------
Well, if you consider that the hack of a reporter may have exposed a CIA agent that was engaged in critical counter-terrorism work is trite, well, my only question to you is "Why do you hate America so much?"

*******Cough*******
------------------
I see your problem. You don't know how to analyze a situation for its import. Let me help you out.

Wait, am I too late to stop you???
-----------------
You know Rusty, it's not the sex, it's the lying.

Is that a member of the House Impeachment team posting???
-----------------
This is how the rest of America thinks? Does that mean the rest of America is as stupid and juvenile as you are?

Yes, in the Red States we watch Beavis and Butthead marathons. Sorry, we don't get Pacifica radio.
-------------------
This would be funny, except that discovering high-ranking, gay Rethuglicans is relevent because, oh, right, YOU ARE THE ANTI-GAY PARTY and YOU USE THE ISSUE TO COURT BIGOTS!

Bush-Hitler, etc.
-------------------
You know, I'm a little surprised that a Star Wars fan (as I can only assume you are, what with the whole Jawa thing) would be a Republican. I mean, the Rebellion were definately Left-wing radicals, what with the whole species-equality, democracy through force of arms, women in high positions of command thing. Seriously, why support the Empire in real life, only to fantasize about the Rebellion (who are, let's not forget, the heroes of the story) on one's website? It seems a little odd, is what I'm saying.

Of all the comments, this one hurt the most......
-------------------
who vetted this guy?

connect the dots.....

Mossad, definitely...
--------------------

It goes on like this. And on. And on....
