State Department Confirms Roy Hallums Missing in Iraq

I recieved this from a friend of Roy Hallums, a man missing in Iraq for the past month but whose abduction was not reported in the MSM and that the State Department declined to comment on until now. I thought I'd pass it along. If you have any information about Roy or any other American hostage not being reported in the press, please e-mail me and we'll do our best to get the word out.

I received a message from a reporter for a Memphis newspaper I've been messaging with about Roy Hallums kidnapping. The reporter tells me the State Department has acknowledged that a Roy Hallums was kidnapped, but they would not confirm he is my friend from Memphis. I'm still trying to get someone to tell me there's some action being taken but nothing yet. God be with Roy and all the others you've mentioned. May they all get back home safely. Let's just keep the pressure on our government and the US media to bring the plight of these people and their families in everyones consciousness.

Please remember to pray for the safe return of the only
American hostage being held in Iraq, Roy Hallums. Our government needs to take more effort in returning him safely from harms way. We are devastated by his disappearance and hope and pray he will be released immediately. God Bless you Roy, Love, your Family

Just a note for the record: No part of the USG (including State) can confirm or deny any information about any American citizen without that citizen's prior approval. That means an abducted American's parents, spouse, children--never mind friend--cannot be given information about an that individual, officially.

Media are not bound by those privacy laws, however.
